Fahrender Raum, 2021

Fahrender Raum at Karl-Marx-Ring in Munich-Neuperlach, 2021
Architecture by Maximiliane Baumgartner & Jochen Weber
Temporary mural by Claudia Kugler

From 2020 to 2021 I took over as artistic director of Fahrender Raum after Maximiliane Baumgartner. In my understanding Fahrender Raum is a hybrid project space at the interface of artistic practice, pedagogy and discourse. From time to time it changes its physical location on the outskirts of Munich. On the basis of their artistic practice, local artists and international residency guests develop play structures and open workshop programmes for and with the participants on site. In addition to these programmes, which are mainly frequented by children and youths, there is a supporting programme of screenings, lectures, performances and publications that also aims to appeal to an audience of grown-ups.
